Morant's Curve Location
Morant's Curve Location. Didn't have the opportunity to encounter the train. Morant’s curve is about only a 10 minute drive from lake louise, or a 40 minute drive from the town of banff;

The famed photo spot is a short drive from lake louise and you can even see the mountains that surround the glacial lake. Each segment is 8 seconds at f/3.2 and iso 800 with the 24mm sigma art lens and nikon d750 in portrait orientation. The curve is named after canadian pacific photographer nicholas morant who took many photos here.
The Cp Rail Line Runs Along The Bow River With The Rocky Mountains In The Background.
It can be viewed from the bow. Its location is off the bow valley parkway, an alternate scenic route that connects banff and lake louise. Morant’s curve is one of those iconic canadian photo locations which just happens to be in my backyard, in the heart of banff national park.

The third photo is another spot south of morant's curve, storm mountain overlook. There is a spot to pull off the road. First is cp freight and the second was of course the prize cp #2816 steaming through.
